Mobile operators' license-renewal deadline being extended
banglanews24.com : Posts and Telecommunications Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju Tuesday said the deadline for license renewal of the mobile-phone operators will be extended by a month or two as the new draft policy has not yet been finalized. The minister came up with the message after a meeting held at the secretariat with the high officials of GrameenPhone, Robi, Banglalink and Citycell. Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has formulated the new policy for the mobile-phone operators and it, in the meantime, has been sent to Posts and Telecommunications Ministry for finalization, said Raju. In this regard, the minister said that the draft policy will be finalized after discussion with the mobile-phone operators and it is underway to reach a decision. "Each and every mobile-phone operator has to get the license renewed under the new policy," said the minister.
