The freshers’ reception at DIIT

On Wednesday, February 29, 2012, the orientation program of the fresher's students of Daffodil Institute of IT held at DIU Auditorium. In a pleasurable environment and in the presence of guardians the students were given the reception. The Chief Guest of the program was   Shawakat Ali, MP, Honorable Deputy Speaker, Bangladesh Parliament and Special Guest was Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University. The Program was chaired by Mohammed Nuruzzaman, the Executive Director of Daffodil Institute of IT and addressed by Md. Khaled Sohel & Mr. Rathindra Nath Das, Deputy Director, DIIT
Addressing the chief guest Mr. Shawkat Ali, MP urged the students to shape up the life based on science, make life more science oriented and contribute to enrich ICT of Bangladesh.
He also urged the students to build up themselves based on the accurate history and perfect knowledge avoiding altered history and knowledge. 
Referring to the historical Agartola Consptracy in 1969 he said, a group of the then Bangalee soldiers at Pakistan Army along with the retired Army personnels   in association with the freedom seeker people and students all together made a plan to attack all the cantonments of East Pakistan at a time in a prescheduled fixed time and capture all the arms and ammunitions from the cantonment to make them armless and declare the independence of Bangladeesh under the leadership of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the plan was disclosed.
As a result a case was filed against Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other associates.
Deputy Speaker said, there is no credit not to face the hurdle, credit belongs to only face the hurdle and come up again. We will have to gain more strength and  come forward to build long dreaming 'golden Bangla' of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Terming Population growth as a main constraint of our development he said, We will have to control population growth to keep habitable land for our next generation.
Addressing as the special guest Professor Dr. M. Lurfar Rahman said, Information Technology is now a part and parcel of Education. He also urged the fresher to acquire and utilize the institutional skills and experience of Daffodil Institute of IT.
She also said that IT based education achieved from DIIT can contribute a lot in forming Digital Bangladesh and implement present government's vision 2021.
She urged the students to uphold the spirit of morality and social values & ethics in character besides education.
He also said "Our youths bear immense prosperity and present government is committed to nurse them to fit to face the challenges of global job market through ICT education.  
Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the Executive Director of DIIT in his speech, advised the students to concentrate on their study and also to become careful in career related facts. He suggested everyone to give importance to moral education. He also described the importance of International Standard Education.
