JU teachers, students bring out mourn rally

Department of Public Administration of Jahangirnagar University (JU) brought out a morn procession for passing of their fellow student Tanjil Rahman Tonny, a 3rd year female student of the department.
Speaker here urged the authorities concerned to ensure safe road.
Tonny was reportedly killed by a traffic accident in the capital on last Wednesday.
Parading the main street the procession ended at old Arts Faculty of the university starting from Social science building at around 11 am.
Over hundred teachers and students including other departments also joined the procession.
Tanjil Rahman Tonny, a third year student of Public Administration was critically injured while a pick-up van hit her rickshaw at Taj Mahal Road in Mohammadpur at around 4 pm of that day.
He died 8pm on Dhaka medical college hospital with a worsening condition.
Students following procession demanded exemplary punishment to the pick-up van driver and called on government to assure a natural death to all.
Untrained driver have to drive-out from the road to save such kind of brilliant one who would strongly serve the nation they added.
Founding chairman of the department Professor Abul Kashem Mujumder, chairman of the department Mahmudur Rahman and other teachers SayadurRahman, Jebunnesa, FarhanaAfroze, Hare Krishno Kundu, Mohammad Nurul Amin, Halima Haque and Basir Mia Khaden attended the rally among others.
