Seminar on ‘Bacterial toxins in human health: Discovery of Novel’ held at PU

Department of Pharmacy of Primeasia University (PAU) organised a seminar on "Bacterial Toxins in Human Health: Discovery of Novel Toxins" held at the PU campus in the capital recently. Prof. Dr. Gias uddin Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor of PAU was present as chief guest while Abul Kashem Molla, Registrar of PAU as special guest at the seminar.
Prof. Dr. Kohinur Begum, Head, Dept. of Pharmacy, and Primeasia University chaired the seminar.
Prof. Dr. Alam Nur-E-Kamal, Dept. of Biology, Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York, presented the keynote at the seminar while Prof. Kamal focused on the discovery of new bacterial toxins that may contribute to combat microbial virulence and can be used in treatment of cancer.
Prof. Dr. Morshed M. Khandoker, Dean, Faculty of Science and Prof. Sk. Feroz Uddin Ahmed, Advisor, Dept. of Pharmacy also spoke the seminar, among others.
Delivering his welcome speech, Prof. Feroz encouraged Bangladeshi biological scientists to work for novel toxins for the invention of new medicines useful against lethal diseases.
Teachers and students of the departments of Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Public Health and Nutrition, and scientists from other institutions were present in the seminar and took part in the open discussion.
