BASIS & GPIT knowledge sharing session
.
ICT Desk:
A day long Knowledge Sharing session on "Executing Commercial Contracts & Intellectual Property Rights " was held on Saturday at BASIS office Dhaka. GPIT & BASIS jointly organized this session specially for in house legal counsels, corporate affairs advisers and top management officers of BASIS member companies.
Objective of this session was to have a lively discussion on execution of good contracts and protection and use of intellectual property. The session started at 10 am and continued till 4pm.
Both execution of commercial contracts and protection of intellectual property right are vital at least for safe and compliant business practice.
Very often companies, partnerships and other organizations have to enter into contracts with others, both locally and internationally for various business reasons. In this regard, drafting and execution of clear and unambiguous written contracts is essential to achieve intended commercial objectives and also to avoid misunderstandings and disputes.
A good contract has the potential to eliminate chances of avoidable adverse consequences; a poor contract will lead to the opposite, perhaps including serious financial and reputational damages.
For Information, BASIS and GPIT jointly arranged 5 days' knowledge sharing sessions to develop the managerial skills of the employees of BASIS member companies. This initiative started on February 18, 2012 at BASIS Office, Dhaka and this April 7 session was the fifth and closing session of it.
It was a part of the ongoing initiatives of BASIS and GPIT to help the member companies to achieve their business goal as well to develop the local software market.
