Police atrocities on journos protested, 4 cops suspended

Journalists of Chittagong protested the police atrocities on staff reporter of Dainik Purbokone Khorshedul Alam  yesterday in front of Chittagong Press Club yesterday morning.
 Chittagong Union of Journalists arranged the protest rally . President of CUJ Shahidul Alam presided over it.
The journalist leaders in their deliberations demanded exemplary punishment  of the concerned police officials who physically insulted the journalist during his official assignment.
The protest rally was told that on duty police officials at Muradpur crossing  unnecessary beaten the journalists on plea of checking his motorbike documents while discharging the professional duties on that time.
Injured jouno now under treatment in hospital.The journalists leaders warned for tougher movement  if police surgeant Bishawajit Banik, SI Md.Enam, Constable Saiful and Selim are punished including  arrest and dismiss from the service immediately.
Among others President of Press club Abu Sufian, former President Ataul Hakim, vice president of BFUJ Mostaque ahmed, secretary of CUJ Riaz Haider,former secretary of Press club Ejaz Yousufi, Jt secretary of CUJ Shamsul Islam , General secretary of TV Journalist Association Chowdhury Farid spoke on the occasion.
In the meantime, concerned police members allegedly involved with the beating  have been suspended from service and case lodged against them with the Panchalaish thana, a police sources said.
