RAKUB evaluation meet held

A business performance evaluation meeting arranged by Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) was held at the conference room of Chapainawabganj municipality on Friday.
The meeting was held with the Zonal Manager of RAKUB, Chapainawabganj Zone Md. Rafiqul Alom Chowdhury in the chair. It was addressed among others, by managing Director of RAKUB Pradip Kumar Datta as Chief Guest and General Manager of RAKUB, Rajshahi Division Abdul Khaleq Khan as special guest.
4 arrested with Yaba at Lalpur

Acting on a secret information, led by Officer-In-Charge (OC) Lalpur police station Md. Matiar Rahman with his forces arrested four Yaba peddlers with twenty eight pieces of Yaba tablets from Budhpara field area under Lalpur upazila of the district on April 25 Wednesday at about 2 pm. The arrested were Md.Ayub Ali (Dablu),35, son of Nur Uddin Biswash at village Budhpara under Lalpur upazila, Imam Mehedi (Maznu),35, son of Hazi Badsha Miah of village Narayanpur, Md. Abdul Ali,23, son of Noor Mohammad residence of Ishwardi purba Tenengri Ambagan under Ishwardi thana in Pabna district and Mamun,23, son late Abdul Latif Mollah of Mazdia . Arrested Yaba peddlers told this correspondent that, per piece Yaba tablet sale rate worth Taka three hundred.A case has been registered with Lalpur thana in this connection under drug control rule.
Token hunger strike by SUST teachers

A symbolic hunger strike was observed at Shahjalal University Of Science and Technology (SUST) on Friday in front of academic building organised by 4 department lecturers. The programme continue from 10am to 12pm.The strike was observed demanding promotion of teachers of Social Science and Applied Science .The striking teachers said , the Applied Science lecturer should get promotion in assistant professor within two years but it takes 3/4 years.There are no accurate rolls also for teacher's promotion in SUST. But every University contain definite rolls.

A view exchange meeting on the employment of the disabled people in our country was held on Thursday in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur. DC Helaluddin Ahmed was the chief guest in the meeting organised by Surjodoy Pratibandhi Sangstha while Prof. Md. Shahjahan, president of Faridpur chapter of Disabled People's Employment Committee was in the chair. Faridpur Diabetic Association Secretary Prof. Sk. Abdus Samad, Deputy Director of Social Services Department Md. Shahidullah, Deputy Director of Youth Development ASM Mainul Ahsan and Women Affairs department officer Mrs. Daulatana Khondoker were the special guests in the daylong meeting. The key-note paper was presented by Surjodoy Pratibandhi Sangstha president Abdur Rob Russel.
Phase out planning workshop held

A day-long phase out planning workshop organised by Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) and facilitated by Plan Bangladesh was held at the conference room of Sadar UNO office here recently.The workshop under 'Sanitation, Hygiene Education and Water Supply project' is funded by GoB and the Unicef.The aim of the workshop was to sustain the achievements of the project, receive ideas about phase out, mark off the role of the concerned and to take measures according to it, sources said.
LGED to improve 5 roads in Haluaghat
MYMENSINGH: The Local government and Engineering Department (LGED) have taken rural road improvement programme in Haluaghat upazila in the district during the current fiscal. Under the programme, LGED sources said, five roads in the upazila would be developed to boost the local economy. Over 3 crore Taka has been sanctioned for the programme, they added. The roads include Dhara UP parisad road, Babu Bazar road, Shakhui bazar road, Gazir vita road via Badsha bazar and Pochim pabajuri bazar road.
