The deceased was Jobeda Khatun, 45, wife of Abdul Haque who had been living with her husband and their six children in a rented house at East Rasulpur in Kamrangirchar.
On information, Kamrangirchar Thana police recovered the body and sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Abdul Haque 55, fled away just after the incident.
Mohammad Al-Amin, eldest son of the couple said that their mother was murdered on Friday night.

"Our mother used to run our family working at different adjacent factories in the area" he said.
A K M Nasirullah, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Kamrangirchar police station told The New Nation that the murder might be sequel to the family feud.
