Group art show begins today at Bengal Art Lounge

A group art exhibition titled “Catechu Makes Brown” will begin today at the Bengal Art Lounge in the city’s Gulshan area.
Ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh, Urs Herren and his wife Esther Megert Herren will inaugurate the exhibition at 6:00pm. Distinguished artist Monirul Islam will speak on the occasion.
The works of “Catechu Makes Brown” made during a natural colour workshop jointly organised by Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts and Aranya Crafts.
The selected works on paper were created using natural colours made from minerals, plants and tree bark. Artworks of Muhammad Kibria, Samarjit Roy Choudhury, Kalidas, Najma Akther, Bipasha Hayat, Maizuddin, among others, will put on display in the show.
During the exhibition a talk by eminent researcher, activist and founder of Aranya Crafts, Ruby Ghuznavi, will be held. n
