In spite of ongoing movement for resignation of Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Prof Dr Shariff Enamul Kabir for his alleged recruitment business he allegedly appointed a new administrative officer again on Saturday.
Examination control office sources said, on the day of office resuming on Saturday during month-long summer vacation the VC has appointed Farzana Afroze as administrative officer in the post of 'Secret Bench' at the examination controller office. The VC Dr Shariff has appointed her in his special power, sources added.
Newly appointed Farzana Afroze was appointed in the post of 'hall super' of Begum Khaleda Zia hall before two years long but she resigned after few days of her joining. 'Shikkhak Samaj', the agitating teacher's platform against VC who's have been demanding resignation of VC for his vast irregularities in different sector, condemned this appointment and criticized his nepotism seriously.
Controller of JU Examination office, Seddiqur Rahman told this correspondent that, the appointment has made totally out of my concern, as I knew the matter after attending office on morning. When asked about the necessaries of new appointment he said, a computer expert was required but any notice was not issued to the university's registrar from exam control office. JU registrar Abu Bakker Seddique could not receive his phone in spite of repeated attempt in this regard. Convener of 'Shikkhak Samaj' Prof Nasim Akter Hossain told this correspondent that, When everybody are eagerly waiting for VC's resignation showing respect of Prime Minister's assurance in this time such recruitment is unexpected.
The issue of this appointment was of our concerned as on the Saturday morning we issued an alarming written statement to the university's registrar to stop this appointment but it's totally denied, she said adding.
We clearly informed the PM when we meet with her about recruitment business of VC for which we are demanding his resignation as he appointed 200 teachers more of them are illegible and extra, she added.
Meanwhile, 'Shikkhak Samaj' organized a general meeting in VIP lounge of JU cafeteria at 12pm on Saturday while they expressed deep anxiousness as PM are delaying to meet their demands.
'Shikkhak Samaj' asked the PM's intervention within this week to remove this autocratic VC to restore peaceful academic campus.
