Fake doctors in hospitals!

Fake doctors have allegedly been providing medical treatment in different private clinics and hospitals in the capital for a long time.
About 100 fake doctors have already been arrested from different parts of the country including the city, RAB sources said.
According to the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, Act-2010, no doctor can practice without obtaining registration from the concerned authorities and none of them is allowed to use title 'doctor' before their name.
If any one uses the degree violating the rule, he/she will be punished under law.
But fake doctors using the titles of MBBS, DMC, BHS (upper), DMU (Dhaka), DGT (Medicine), MRCP (UK), MRCPE, FRCP (AND), MS (Orthopedic) Nitor, AO Basic (India), AO Spain and so on are illegally practicing in clinics and private hospitals. Those clinics and hospitals are regularly giving advertisement not only in the dailies but also in TV Channels to attract the patients.
Law enforcing agencies are monitoring some clinics and hospitals in the capital to hold the fake doctors, it was known.
Dr. Jahedul Huq Boshunia, Registrar of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council said a team is working to hold the fake doctors and about 58,000 doctors identities will be given in the website very soon.
On condition of anonymity a RAB official told The New Nation that if doctors use their registration number in their sign board, visiting card and prescription, the fake doctors would not be able to do their illegal practice.
On November 25, 2011 a mobile court has punished two fake doctors in Agrabad area at Double Mooring in the port city.
Ajit Bihari and Mohammad Idris were fined Tk 100,000 each by executive magistrate Mukitul Hasan during a daylong joint drive by the Civil Surgeon's office and Rapid Action Battalion in Chittagong.
On August 21, 2011, a fake doctor was arrested at Mirpur in the capital and awarded two years' imprisonment by a mobile court.
On April 15, 2012 A mobile court jailed seven fake doctors, including two women, for different terms at Mirpur and Uttara in the capital.
Executive Magistrate HM Anwar Pasha awarded the punishment after he had found the seven working as doctors with fake identities.
