Sorkari Kormochari Parishad demands 50 pc pay hike

Bangladesh Sorkari Kormochari Songhati Parishad on Sunday demanded 50 per cent salary increase and fixing the lowest salary at Tk 3000.
Addressing a pre-budget meeting the leaders of the Parishad said as the living cost has increased almost double over the last couple of years, it became extremely difficult for them to maintain life with the existing salary.
They also demanded formation of permanent pay commission and service commission in an effort to better adjust living and salary standard.
The leaders of the Parishad urged government to fix retirement age at 60 as increasing 2 years to the recruitment age as well.
Md Rashid Ullah, President of the Parishad, presided over the meeting held at the office of Bangladesh Post Office Employees Union at GPO.
Md Ruhul Amin, general secretary of Parishad, Sheikh Al Beruni, executive president, Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Hiron Miah, presidium member of the Parishad were present at the meeting among others.
