Robbers loot valuables in Manikganj
Robbers looted valuables from a house at Kandhapara village under Saturia Police Station in Manikganj district on Wednesday. Police said a gang of masked armed robbers numbering 15 to 20 entered the house of Abdul Hakim Ali, owner of a brick field, by breaking the lock of the main gate at around 2 am. The robbers kept hostage the house owner, his wife Jamuna Begum and son Abdul Jalil at gun point. They also tied up the hands and mouth of the inmates and looted cash Tk two lakh and 10 thousand and 60 tolas of gold from the almirah, son of the house owner said. Robbers looted valuables worth about Tk 45 lakh.
Ansar- VDP mobile servicing training course held
A 5-week long mobile servicing training course and certificate distribution programme organised by the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP was held at Bash Bari Colony in Mymensingh recently.Md saifur Rahman,District Commandant of Ansar and VDP was present as Chief Guest on the concluding ceremony.He said , through this training the members of Ansar will be self-reliant. He also informed that so far a total of 180 members get training .
Youth commits suicide in Dupchanchia
A young man has committed suicide in his own house by hanging with fan in Merai village under Dupchanchia Sadar upazila in Bogra district on Tuesday night over a family feud. The deceased was identified as Nashir Hossain, 25, father of two children and son of Gollabor Hossain. Police and family sources said onset the very day,Nashir Hossain makes a quarrel with family member taking a silly matter . They then got locked into an altercation over it and at one stage he locked the door of his room and committed suicide by hanging with fan. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Bogra Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed in this connection in Dupchanchia police station.
College student injured by gun shot of dacoits
A college student was injured by gun shot of dacoit-gang attempted to loot a house of a Saudi expatriate at Kashipur-Chouhatpur area of the city early Wednesday.
The victim admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital was identified as Arifur Rahman Zamaddar Jishan, 22, hounurs third-year student in Accounting of Jhalakathi Govt College.Nupur, sister of Jishan, said her father Abdul Hamid Zamaddar working at Saudi Arabia and her mother Khaleda Khanam living alone in the home and some times her brother Jishan also came to visit mother in the newly constructed one-storied building at Chouhatpur.Jishan and one of his friends Russel came and stayed at the house Tuesday and all went to sleep at night.At about 3:00 am early Wednesday a gang of armed dacoits cutting grill and breaking door entered inside the house and attempted to loot valuables.
