Rural dev officials being trained in Korea

KOICA is providing training to 12 Bangladeshi officials on rural development strategies in Korea from 17th May to 2nd June 2012.
The training has been designed to provide knowledge on policy, strategy and methodology of rural and social capital development, leadership development of rural leaders in Comilla region through application of "Saemaul Undong", a successful community development model in Korea. Also provide training on how to use processing methods of agricultural products, development methods of local specialties and manage water resources.
Among those 12 participants, 6 officials are from Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) and 6 are from Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) who have been selected through a competitive selection process.
Meanwhile, KOICA Resident Representative Bok-Hee Kim put emphasis on the rural development to gain sustainable economic growth and hoped that the trainees, after successful completion of training, will be able to exercise those experiences for the development of their own country.
She also hoped that the trainees, after completion of this program, could be able to act as a human bridge to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
