CCCI for search of new gas field in Ctg region

President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry  Murshed Murad Ibrahim urged the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to search for new gas fields in the greater Chittagong through BAPEX in possible areas. He sent a message to the Prime Minister in context of exploring oil resources amounting to approximate BDT 45 thousand crore at Kailashtila and Horipur on yesterday.
Chamber President commented that through this grand success, the concerned ministry, BAPEX, local experts and engineers have put mark of their capabilities.
Referring to Sangu Gas Field, Chamber President stated that the possibility of gas fields in Budbudi Chara of Patiya, Jaldi of Banskhali, Shita-hill at Sitakund and greater hilltracks including Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachari were mentioned in many surveys.
He added that BAPEX is equipped with more modern technology and skilled manpower than any time in the past and thus the probability of success is of great extent.
Any success in exploring gas in the proposed area can play a vital role in meeting our internal demand, save a huge amount of foreign exchanges and thus can be a landmark in enriching economic development of the country, Chamber President viewed, says a sources of CCCI.
