A gang of robbers stabbed and looted valuables from two houses in South Surma upazila under Sylhet district recently. Sources said, a gang of masked robbers numbering 10/12 swooped on the house of Foriegner Kabir Miah at Mullargaw village in South Surma upazila. The victims were identified as Foreigner Kabir Miah's two brothers Anwar Miah and Babul Miah.
One killed in road accident
One old man was killed in an accident in Beanibazar upazila in Sylhet district early on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Abdus Shahid (55), son of Late Safar Uddin, of village Kashba Bagertila under Beanibazar upazila in Sylhet district. Police also said that a Sylhet-bound speeding Motorbyke hit him. Than he was dies on the spot.
Dead body found
Sylhet Osmaninagar Thana police recovered an unidentified dead body of a young man at Burunga union under Osmaninagar Thana in the Sylhet district on 17 May Thursday at 8.30pm. The recovered dead body was sent to Sylhet MAG Hospital morgue for an autopsy, police said. Sources said, the recovered unidentified young dead body may be inhabitant in this area. Police Said, An Unnatural Death (UD) case will be filed primarily. Later, next step will be taken after investigation."
Ex-army officer commits suicide
An ex-army officer supposedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Shahporan housing area of the Sylhet city on 18 May Friday. The deceased was identified as Ahmad Al Kabir (24), son of late Mahmud Ali.
Sources said that Kabir hanged himself with the ceiling fan of his house and his family members rushed him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctor declared him dead. The reason of taking poison is still unknown. But quoting his family police added, Kabir was mentally ill. A UD case with has been registered with local police station in this connection.
