About on hundred students of the department staged the protest rally at science faculty playground at around 10.00am, where they declared that they would not go back to classes and take part in exams until the authority withdraw the chairman from the post.
The students alleged, Dr Shahjahan has totally failed to run the duty of a chairman as he has sofar failed to publish the honours exam result of 2005-06 batch till now though the examination ended in December last year.
Since last year, he has also failed to appoint any lab attendance for the students creating enormous suffering to the students academic performance.
Moreover, he failed to hold classes regularly only for his negligence thereby creating miserable session jam, in the campus they added.
On information, JnU science faculty Dean Prof Dr Kamrul Alam Khan came to scene with senior teachers and tried to mollify them after holding a meeting with agitating students.
The students then meet the Vice-Chancellor but failed to reach any solution till 2.30pm of the day and the students declared to continue their agitation programmes until their demands met up.
