Arrest of attackers on teachers demanded

Teachers of the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (IFES) at Chittagong University (CU) yesterday demanded the arrest of the attackers on its teachers and students.
The demand came at a press conference at CU Teachers' Association office this morning.
The teachers also formed a human chain in front of CU Administrative Building protesting the incident.
They demanded immediate arrest and punishment to the miscreants and warned of tougher programmes in case of failure.
IFES director Professor Dr Mohammad Jasim Uddin and Professor Kalim Uddin Buiyan, among others, spoke at the press conference.
Earlier, a gang of local miscreants attacked the teachers and students of IFES and vandalised the bus carrying them in Ranirhat area under Rangunia upazila of the district while they were returning from Rangamati after a study tour on May 22.
Later, Professor Kalim Uddin Buiyan filed a case in this connection.
