prices rebound on profit taking

After a periodic lull, stock prices rebounded on both Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittangong Stock Exchange on Wednesday on profit taking attitudes, brokers said.
"Investors showed positive mood and invested in some shares most blue chips that lost prices significantly during the last three weeks", broker at DSE said.
The DSI index gained 56.21 points or 1.43% at the closing yesterday, while DSE general index added 68.85 points or 1.49% on higher demand from small investors on profit taking attitudes, brokers said.
Among the total traded issues, 220 issues added prices while 25 declined and the rest 14 remained unchanged.
At CSE, the blue chip index CSE-30 added 187.25 points to close at 12713.96 and CSCX added 104.85 points to close at 8938.88 at closing. A total of 175 issues were traded on CSE, while 141 gained and 26 lost prices and other 8 remained unchanged.
Prices of most shares declines significantly on both the bourses due to panic selling. Investors became very cautious particularly after the Finance minister's announcement that steps to be taken to reform the capital markets.
