Abahani beat Mohammedan by three wickets in Premier Div Cricket League

Abahani Limited beat their arch-rival Mohammedan Sporting Club by three wickets to win the battle of prestige in the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra on Friday.
 Surprisingly the result of the clash between country's two traditional outfits had no effect on the title race as both were thrown out the championship race earlier for their inconsistent performance throughout the season.
With the day's result, Abahani and Mohammedan secured both have 14 points each, Abahani can relish the win as they were earlier in the first phase were beaten by Mohammedans  and in today's Abahani had the opportunity to take sweet revenge against old rival.    
Batting first after wining the toss Mohammedan SC scored a decent total of 230 for all in 50 overs with tailender Ezaj Ahmed scoring unbeaten 42 runs and opener Imrul Kayes making 31.
Besides middle order Rajin Saleh (30) and       Chathura Peiris (23) were the other notable scorers for Mohammedan SC.
Kamrul Islam, Zahidul Islam and Farhad Reza bagged two wickets each for 30, 33 and 37 runs respectively.
In reply, Abahani Limited reached their target of 231 for 7 with three wickets and one ball to spare.
One down Marshal Ayub scored 44 runs while middle order Elias Suny and  skipper Mahmudullah scored 34 each.
Amit Kumar and Noor Hossain bagged two wickets for 26 and 42 runs respectively.
