Leaders of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front (SCF), a left leaning student organisation, on Wednesday demanded new buildings to reduce session-jam and eliminate residential problem at National University (NU).
"There is not enough classrooms and examination halls in the National University (NU). Students of the university are deprived of all privileges since its establishment," the leaders added.
They placed the demand at a demonstration in front of the Fine Arts Faculty on the Dhaka University campus. The organisation also demanded appointing adequate teachers, sufficient books at library and seminar halls and publication of exams results within three month after taking the examination.
They also wanted decentralisation of the NU in the interest of the students.
"Decentralisation can resolve most of the problems. But some persons in and outside of the government are trying to foil the move," they added.
