Make WB letter public: BNP
. banglanews24.com, Dhaka
Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Friday asked the government to make public the World Bank's letter over corruption of Padma Bridge.
"People want to know the statement of the letter and who are involved with the corruption. So, make the letter public," he said indicating the government.
The senior BNP leader of the party made the demand while addressing a discussion meeting organized by Swadhinata Forum held at the National Press Club marking one year of police
attack on opposition chief whip Zainul Abdin Farroque.
"The country's law-and-order situation is deteriorated in such a level that foreign human rights organizations are talking about dissolving RAB and halting BDR mutiny trial," he said.
The spokesperson for the former ruling party said RAB was formed in a bid to control law-and-order. But, now it has been turned into a weapon of political parties, he added.
