Seminar on CHT languages held at EWU

Professor David A. Peterson of the Department of Linguistics and

Cognitive Science, Dartmouth College, NH, USA gave a talk at the East West University English Department on 15 July. The presentation started at 4: 40 PM and was attended by the teachers and students of the Department.

The title of the paper was "Issues in the endangerment and documentation of Chittagong Hill Tracts Languages".

Vice Chancellor of East West University, Professor Ahmed Shafee gave a

brief presentation in the program and handed over a crest to Dr. Peterson.    

The talks were focused on a few core objectives, the most important being how

to provide the students of the Department of English the ideas about endangered languages and how students studying Linguistics sciences can play a vital role in language documentation.  

Finally, Dr. Peterson discussed elements of linguistic training that he views as the most essential to producing local linguists who can make lasting contributions to the documentation of Bangladeshi languages.
