WB's allegation true: Anu

Noted economist Professor Anu Muhammad Saturday categorically said the corruption allegation of World Bank over much-talked-about Padma Bridge is true.
He came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion meeting held at Mukti Bhaban at Paltan in the city.
Anu Muhammad said, "The government has not submitted any information yet that will rule out the WB allegation, rather the role of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) seems that either they are trying to hide the corruption or acting as per order of the government."
Criticizing WB, he said, "WB, IMF and ADB are sheltering and paving the way for corrupt governments, multinational capital, greedy consultants, bureaucracy and local partners."
With CPB President Monjurul Ahsan Khan in the chair, the discussion meeting was also addressed, among others, by Professor MM Akash, Dr Binayak Sen, Professor Shafiquzzaman and Professor Dr M Shahabuddin.
