Banglalion boasts hundred thousand subscribers


ICT Desk : Banglalion Communications Limited Chairman Major (retd) Abdul Mannan said the number of subscribers to the company's service hit a hundred thousand, indicating a robust growth of the knowledge economy in the country. He came up with the announcement at a press conference held in a city hotel Monday. "We promised that we would work to spread hi-speed wimax internet connectivity throughout the country to help economic strength of the country and build digital Bangladesh," said the chairman of the internet service provider. He added: "We started serving customers in May 2010. Since then, one year has passed and, on 14th May, we got one lakh subscribers. It is not only the success for Banglalion, rather it is the step forward for digital education and improving standard of living for the people of Bangladesh." At the conference Abdul Mannan said within a short period of time Banglalion has established network in seven divisional cities. "We are going to connect 30 more districts. By the end of this year, we'll be able to set up 4G technology in the rest of the districts of the country." Chief Executive officer Neil Graham, chief commercial officer Shafiul Haque Chowdhury and Chief marketing officer Abraham Kaikobad were present at the press conference.
