Memi-Rikta in play together

With the direction given by noted TV and film actor and play director Ariful Haque theatre troupes - Dhaka Padatik and Theatre jointly staged play Nil Dorpon in 1986. By performing in that play Munir Yusuf Memi was debuted in theatre arena. Then she had performed one after another in many popular plays like Jomidar Dorpon, Kshoto-Bikshoto, Shat Ghat-er Kanakori, Mohapurush, Rakkhushi and many more.
In small screen, Memi’s first play was Ei Sei Konthoswar, produced by Mostafa Kamal Syed under the story written by Momtazuddin Ahmed. But as a heroine, Memi’s first play was Phiriye Dao Aronyo, produced by Kha Ma Harun. Then she performed in many TV plays like Taar Kotha Aamar Kotha, Kon Kanon-er Phul, Keu Phere Keu Pherena and others.
At present, Memi is appearing in small screen a little bit. In last Eid-ul-Azha, she performed in three plays. After many years, Memi is performing in a drama serial. Promising TV actress Rikta is also performing with her in this serial. Title of the serial is Somporko, which shooting started from January 17. This serial is being directed by Saidul Islam Rana under the script written by Chanchal M Rahman. In this serial, Memi is performing in role of Rikta’s elder sister.
While shearing her feelings to perform in this serial Memi told this correspondent, “Story of this serial is based on various complications and aspects in family life. Rikta performed well. She has performed as like my younger sister. As a director, Rana is also doing well.”
“It was my first work with Memi apu. She is very nice person. She cooperated me from her level best. I hope this serial will be attracted by the viewers,” said Rikta while shearing her feelings.
It may be mentioned that Munir Yusuf Memi has performed in three movies till now. These are - Mon Manena, directed by Matin Rahman, Laal Salu, directed by Tanvir Mokammel, and Laal Tip, directed by Swapan Ahmed. On the other hand, Rikta is now acting in daily soap Jononi, which is being directed by Shahadat Hossain Sabuj, now.
