Literary evening at RCSC

A literary evening to mark the Russian Language Day was held at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in the city’s Dhanmondi area jointly organised by Bangladesh-Russia Friendship Society and Literary Society ‘Zion Kathi’. Bangladeshi poetry tycoon such as Nirmalendu Goon and Dr Zahid Reza Noor as well as theatre personality Sara Zaker graced the occasion. By decree of Russian President Dimitry Medvedev Russian Language Day is celebrated on June 6- birthday of the Russian National poet Alexander Pushkin. More than 80 Russian language lovers from all over Bangladesh watched the brilliant presentation by ‘Zion Kathi Literary Society’ based on verses by great poet Alaxander Pushkin. Beginning with this year Russian Language Day will be celebrated every year worldwide. In Bangladesh, member of the Russian language speakers is skyrocketing as Russian-Bangladeshi ties develop dynamically, according to the organisers.
